Workshop: The Moon Rhymes in Frost coming soon to Artica

We are very pleased to welcome pastry chef Ethan Kan to Artica to host this one of kind workshop.

Inspired by the end of polar night and the ethereal glow of moonlit nights, this workshop invites participants to immerse themselves in a ritualistic culinary experience. Led by our host pastry chef, Ethan Kan, this hands-on session will help participants to learn to craft a variation of a snow skin mooncake.

Mooncakes, traditionally associated with lunar festivities, take on a twist as we pay homage to the celestial and embrace the symbolism of seeds in the snow. Through hands-on guidance, participants will work with grains and seeds to make their own pastry from scratch. We’ll also explore the concept of rituals as temporal technologies, offering solace and meaning in a world accelerated by fragmented time.

This workshop is offered by @gluttonous.rise an experimental pastry lab based in NYC. The lead pastry chef, Ethan Kan was trained in Ferrandi, Paris and has held positions at Sweet Rehab and Chanson Patisserie in New York.

When: Tuesday 12 March, 16:00 - 19:00 at Artica.
This workshop is free, all ingredients and tools will be provided. To book a place email: info@articasvalbard.no (15 places available)
