Welcome to the opening of Arctic Action III - Readings, Art Talks, Soup, Meetings and probably a Performance...

During the upcoming Arctic Action III festival, Longyearbyen will welcome Pekka Kainulainen (Finland), Liina Kuittinen (Finland), Kurt Johannessen (Norway) and Sophie Dupont (Denmark).

Arctic Action is proud to be collaborating with Artica Svalbard on the production of its third edition in Spitsbergen, 11– 19th September 2017.

Arctic Action has established itself as an ambitious initiative and an integral part of Longyearbyen and the international live performance art scene, focusing on artists who work take an ecological approach both to their research, process as well as their finished works. Arctic Action aims to provide a platform for discussing sustainable development and its relationship with art. The festival hopes to raise awareness of the fragility of our planet by bringing art to the Svalbard countryside and the town of Longyearbyen.

Artica Svalbard’s workshop in Longyearbyen will serve as a headquarter for the artists and producers of the third Arctic Action 11-19th September. Arctic Action’s opens at Artica Svalbard’s workshop on Friday 15th September at 17:00. As part of the launch, the artists will present their work in progress.
