On 20th June, Polar Permaculture and Artica Svalbard are relaunching Green Circle in a joint effort to inspire a local foodie revolution in Longyearbyen, which will involve using information and action to transform local waste products into a useful resource.

Polar Permaculture has since 2016 hosted the Green Circle event in Longyearbyen to raise awareness of what can be done to make Svalbard more sustainable. In Longyearbyen, nearly all food is imported from the mainland, which means that everyday things and food have a much higher carbon footprint than in 99% of the world. At the same time Svalbard and the Arctic is a place where climate change is faster and more severe than in most of the rest of the world.

Come and join us to take part in the discussion and action, as well as to experience a dish created from 50% locally-sourced ingredients!
