Creative Lino Printing workshop, hosted by Ramona Salo Myrseth and Katarina Skår Lisa

  • Artica Svalbard Vei 608-3 Longyearbyen Svalbard (map)

* Now Fully Booked *

Join Artica’s current residents, Ramona Salo Myrseth and Katarina Skår Lisa for a creative Lino print workshop on Saturday 4 September from 13:00.

Taking inspiration from their practice as a duo, we will begin with a guided and contemplative walk from Artica to the beach area gaining ideas from the environment and nature for an afternoon of Lino printing.

The prints will be on fabric and later used as part of a textile piece made by Ramona Salo Myrseth. You will also make additional prints to take home.

Ramona Salo Myrseth and Katarina Skår Lisa are two independent artists that work as a collaborative duo. Together they explore a common yet personal enquiry in contemporary arts through their Sea Sámi heritage. Themes they are occupied with are the ecology of creations, relations, culture, and care. Their aim is to investigate ways of learning and practise with a Sea Sámi cosmology and their landscapes.

The workshop will end with a short performance by the duo.

This workshop is free and open to all aged 17+. Please book in advance via info@articasvalbard.no (we have space for 8 adults). The workshop will be hosted in Norwegian and English.

Ramona Salo Myrseth and Katarina Skår Lisa have been nominated by our key partner Office for Contemporary Art Norway (OCA) for a residency. You can read more here.
