A monthly gathering at Artica Svalbard where scientists and artists meet, share, and spark ideas over tea, cake, and conversation. Together we explore current work, how the arts can communicate science, and how scientific knowledge can inspire artistic practice.

For this month’s Fika we will begin with three short presentations (5–8 minutes each), starting at 15:45. There will be no Q&A after the talks — instead we encourage informal conversations.

• Christiane Hübner — Information Officer at SIOS who will present What is SIOS?

• Amy Hoagland — Artist in Residence at Artica Svalbard will share details of her cross-disciplinary research combining science, technology, and art

• Maaike Weerdesteijn — Researcher in Arctic Geophysics at UNIS will present The PermaMeteo Community project
