Making Images with Svalbard Soil

Thank you to everyone who joined us last week for Soil as Image: Experimental Soil Chromatography with Aindreas Scholz!

Together we explored soil chromatography, transforming local Svalbard soil samples into intricate circular images and discovering how differences in soil composition emerge through colour, form and pattern.

The workshop offered a chance to experiment with soil not only as an image-making material, but as a living archive and witness to environmental change.

A big thank you to Aindreas for sharing his research and process, and to everyone who joined us and got their hands a little dirty!
