Join visual artist and bookbinder Elize de Beer for a hands-on workshop exploring the art of exposed spine bookbinding.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of traditional bookbinding while creating their own handmade notebook featuring a visible stitched spine. The workshop introduces key techniques including paper folding, page signatures, sewing methods, cover construction, and binding assembly.

Celebrating the craftsmanship of the binding itself, the exposed spine technique results in a functional and visually striking book that reveals its structure and construction. Suitable for beginners and creatives of all skill levels, the workshop offers an opportunity to slow down, work with your hands, and explore the creative possibilities of contemporary book arts.

All materials and tools will be provided.
