Open Studio: Woodcut Printing with Todd Anderson
When: Thursday 23 July, 17:30–20:00
Where: Artica Svalbard, vei 608-3
Join American printmaker Todd Anderson for an evening exploring the art of woodcut printmaking.
Todd will begin with an informal artist's talk, introducing his practice and sharing how his work combines traditional printmaking with climate science and field research. Through images and stories from projects in the Arctic and beyond, he'll offer an insight into how woodcut can become a way of observing and responding to changing landscapes.
After the talk, everyone will have the chance to have a go at woodcut printing. Todd will introduce the basics of the process before inviting participants to print from one of his hand-carved woodblocks using traditional printing techniques. Each person will leave with their own print to take home.
This is a relaxed opportunity to experience woodcut printmaking firsthand, ask questions and meet the artist. No previous experience is necessary, and all materials are provided.
This event is Free, open to Ages 15+ | Maximum 15 participants
